Encounter, care, teaching and learning. Those are the pillars of The Welsh Academy. As a middle school, our classrooms are hubs of creativity, collaboration and adventure, led by talented and loving faculty.
A key element to the curriculum at The Welsh Academy is the variety of affinity courses offered to our students. These short-term courses provide a hands-on introduction to new and exciting activities or subjects to help our students discover their talents and see where their interests lie.
We are a family, and our teachers and staff are wonderful people who care abundantly about students, families and one another. Here’s a little bit about the amazing men and women at our school.
Our school is set up to meet the unique needs of middle school boys. In addition to classes, the student experience includes a school uniform, meals, transportation, sports and extracurricular activities, and code of conduct.

Saint Ignatius High School is excited to announce our new "Give a Roar" peer-to-peer recognition program, which allows employees an opportunity to nominate co-workers for mission-driven actions that go above and beyond their assigned work responsibilities. With a heart toward cura personalis, The Welsh Academy has been hard at work to assemble a village of professionals who will help their young students grow mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, and this project is taking on even more importance during the school’s fourth year of existence. So writes Saint Ignatius Principal Dr. Anthony Fior '02 in his letter from the Spring 2022 issue of Saint Ignatius Magazine. Here he celebrates the work of the academy school on campus that bears Fr. Welsh's name.
As they depart The Welsh Academy for their respective high schools, the first class of eighth grade graduates reflects on the journey of their past three years. These first 22 students at this school had a journey unlike any other, and it has shaped them in important and lasting ways.
