LABRE DONATION DRIVE: The Labre Ministry to the Homeless helps to meet the needs of our friends living on the streets throughout Cleveland. Each Sunday, the Labre adult team and St. Ignatius students maintain these important relationships and aim to meet the basic needs of many people on the streets. To prepare for the year ahead, we are running a Donation Drive from September 11th- September 29th for the items listed below. Please bring donations in plastic bags and leave them in the donation bin that will be placed in the Rade Dining Hall. INTRAMURAL SOCCER: Registration is now open for intramural soccer. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, 9/26. Students should see Mr. Martin’s email from Thursday, 9/21 for full details, rules, and the registration link.
PEER TUTORING: DO YOU NEED A PEER TUTOR? Best practice suggests that, when you need some assistance in a class, you should go to the source first: your teacher. However, if you have been meeting with your teacher and find you still struggle, The St. Ignatius Peer Tutoring Program may be a great option for you. Please fill out the
Peer Tutor Request Form, and someone from the peer tutoring program (Coach G, Mr.Mackey, or Ms.Miller) will be in contact with you as soon as the first week of October.
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH: The Saint Ignatius High School community will recognize the contributions our Hispanic and Latino brothers and sisters have made to society and culture during National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15).

St. BERNARD MOVERS: Want to get involved with service at Saint Ignatius? The St. Bernard Movers helps people move from one apartment to another, or from transitional housing to independent living. We work on Mondays after school until about 5:30, and transportation is provided to and from school. It's truly rewarding meeting people who might be in their first safe living situation. Need Writing Help?: The Peer Conferencing Center is here to help! Staffed every period, every formation period (except Thursdays), and before and after school, the PCC (located next to the English office in MB 415A) has excellent juniors and seniors to help you with your writing needs. It doesn't have to be just for English, either. Any subject works. Stop by anytime! Ask your English teacher for more details if you'd like.

ATTENTION STUDENT ATHLETES: Are you having difficulty adjusting to the rigor of high school and high school athletics? Could you use a little help with a class, with balancing workload, athletics and free time, or with figuring out how to get things done while your team is on the road? Student Athlete Services (SAS) is a new peer mentoring program by athletes, for athletes that seeks to pair student athletes needing a little help or advice with a senior athlete in their sport who has successfully navigated student athlete life. SAS mentors will connect with athletes and provide advice and tips, suggest schedules and routines, provide tutoring, and generally support your journey to becoming a highly successful Saint Ignatius student athlete. JAZZ ENSEMBLE: Any student that is interested in auditioning for the Saint Ignatius Jazz Ensemble should reach out to Mr. Hamlin (dhamlin@ignatius.edu) or Mr. Mullen (jmullen@ignatius.edu) as soon as possible! This group meets Monday and Wednesday from 3:20pm-4:20pm in the Breen Center as a co-curricular class that earns Fine Arts Credit. The group plays a variety of different styles including swing, latin, fusion, and more modern pop/rock arrangements.
Auditions will be held the week of September 18th.
MODEL UN: Are you interested in joining a club that is great for your resume, is really fun, educational, and travels to OSU, the University of Michigan, and the University of Virginia? Then Model UN is for you. Model UN is an educational simulation in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. The first Model UN meeting of the year will be held this Monday, 9/11/23 during formation in SC RM 104 No need to sign up, just show up and give it a try. PALLBEARER TRAINING: Any junior or senior who would like to become a member of the Saint Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry needs to attend one of the upcoming training sessions on Friday, September 8 from 1-1:40pm OR Monday, September 11 from 1-1:40pm. CONGRESSIONAL DEBATERS: It is important that you attend the first meeting/practice tomorrow during advisory or Monday immediately after school. You will receive the legislation for the Novice Tournament on Saturday, October 21.
LINCOLN DOUGLAS DEBATERS: Please attend tomorrow or Monday's meeting. It is imperative that you begin with a practice topic to better prepare for the Novice tournament. You will receive a packet for analysis. Our practices will soon be separate from Congress so we can better prepare each category.

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS CLUB: Calling all adventurers, new and old! If you like making friends, storytelling, writing, acting, adventuring, dungeon-crawling, exciting turn-based combat, board games, card games, video games, tabletop games, really any type of games, or shiny math rocks, then you should come to the Dungeons & Dragons club on Monday in MB 414 during Formation Period. We will be creating new groups for this school year, continuing old ones, and discussing D&D and other tabletop roleplaying games. MODEL RAILROADERS: Are you interested in modeling? In trains? Maybe even both? Well this club has got you covered on both! We design and model layouts for HO scale trains. You can get in on the development of our next layout, a modular one, and be an active builder. We meet to discuss what we’ll be doing for the next week on Wednesdays during Formation in MB314A, and we are open for you coming in to help out any time you’re free, especially during Monday’s and Friday’s Formation period. CAT MEETING: The Christian Action Team meets every Wednesday at 8:25 a.m. in the Companions Center for Faith that Does Justice (1st floor Loyola Hall). All students are invited. Come to learn about the different opportunities, hear stories from your peers, pray, reflect and get involved. Please consider joining us!

SKATEBOARDING CLUB: "Are you interested in skateboarding or want to learn how? Join the Skate Cats every Monday during the formation period and Friday after school in SC 204. We will provide boards but feel free to bring your own. We plan outings to skateparks every quarter, build boards, discuss skateboarding, and watch skate media. It doesn't matter if you have experience or not, everyone is welcome."
SNAPCATS: Are you interested in photography? Do you want to take photos for events like sport games and all-school masses? Do you want to do cool creative photography projects? Are you interested in the Adobe suite? Then come to Snapcats, the St. Ignatius premier photography club. No experience or equipment required. Just show up and have a blast! We meet every Friday during the formation period period on the 6th floor. Our first meeting will be this Friday, 9/22. Contact Drew Kneblewicz ‘25 or Mrs. Chronister for more information. GONZAGA SOCIETY: The Gonzaga Society of Prayer will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, August 22nd, from 8:00 - 8:15 am in the Companions Center on the 1st floor of Loyola Hall. The Gonzaga Society meets every Tuesday before school to pray for the health and healing of the sick and injured in the St. Ignatius community and in the community at large. METAL CLUB: Are you interested in rock or metal music? Would you like to learn to play an instrument in those genres? Then check out metal club on Fridays during formation period. Our first meeting of the year will be today in room 511. See Mr. Petras or President Jack Howells for more details if you’re curious or need more information. Hope to see you there!
VELOCATS: We meet Fridays immediately after school (weather permitting) & some Saturdays. The club also meets Fridays during formation period in 235 to hang out. Velocats is the St. Ignatius cycling club. Local rides (3:15-4:30pm on some Fridays). We will go mountain biking and hit local dirt jumps on some Saturdays (usually around 1pm) dependent on student interest. We ride Ray’s Indoor MTB on Mondays in the winter. Email Mr. Betz to be added to the club page and receive details on upcoming rides.
YOGA CLUB: The Yoga Club provides the opportunity to participate in a yoga practice that incorporates mind and body. If you are interested in improving your strength and flexibility, finding mental and emotional balance, improving your health, or just want to try something new in a non-judgmental community, join our club! Participants should dress comfortably and attend as often as possible. Sessions will take place from 12:55 - 1:40 on Fridays on Wasmer Field. Please arrive early to sign in and set up your space.
