The 86th Annual Rini Family Christmas Food Drive and Shrish V. Patel Toy Drive is HERE!
Starting Monday, November 20, students are asked to bring in four food items, $4, and 1 toy to help fill food baskets for 700 families in Cleveland.
 
Students - 

  • Donations should be dropped off before school from 7:30- 8:20 a.m. in Rade Dining Hal or Murphy Gym Hallway.
    • When you bring in your donations, please tell the volunteers working at the drop-off station of your name, advisory and the quantity of food and money.
    • If you forget to turn in your donation in the period before school, please bring it to Rade Dining Hall during the Formation period.
    • Please bring all items by Thursday, December 14 

We invite students and families of all classes to join us for Delivery Day on Saturday, December 16. The day begins with Mass at 8:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Chapel, followed by a simple breakfast (coffee, fruit, donuts), and then basket delivery.

SPRING MUSICAL: Spring Musical interest meeting will be on Monday, November 27, at 4pm in the Thomas Room of the Breen Center for the Performing Arts.  All area high school girls and all current Saint Ignatius students are welcome to join to hear about how to get involved with the Harlequins! 

Masterclass to prepare for auditions for the Spring Musical will be on Thursday, November 30, 4-6pm in the Choral Room of the Breen Center for the Performing Arts. All Saint Ignatius students and area high school girls are welcome. All participants should bring a 32 bar cut of their vocal audition piece in the style of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Students should also bring up to date resumes for feedback. Information about choosing a song and creating a resume can be found here.  

SPRING MUSICAL AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD DECEMBER 5-7:

  • Dance auditions Tuesday, December 5, 4-5:30pm All wishing to be in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying should attend dance auditions on the main stage of the Breen Center for the Performing Arts. Students should come dressed in clothes that will allow them to move, and bring with them their headshot and resume. Information about how to create a resume and an affordable headshot is here
  • Vocal auditions Wednesday, December 6, 3:30-6:30pm All wishing to be in How to Succeed... should attend open call vocal auditions in the Chorus Room of the Breen Center for the Performing Arts.  All participants should bring a 32 bar cut with sheet music for the piano accompanist. Description of what this should be can be found here.  
  • Callbacks Thursday, December 7, 4-6pm Those who need to attend callbacks which will be held in the Breen Center will be notified on December 6TH.

ARRUPE CHRISTMAS PARTY
Families of students are asked to consider a donation of a NEW winter hat and gloves/mittens for the children and any class can donate a book.  We are asking each class to bring the following:

  • Any class - children's books infant through kindergarten
  • Freshmen - Elementary school and younger girls
  • Sophomores - Elementary school and younger boys
  • Juniors - Preteen through adult girls
  • Seniors - Preteen through adult boys
Drop off items to the Arrupe House porch or Campus Ministry by Monday, December 4th.

IGNATIUS SKI CLUB: 
Ignatius Ski Club is back! We will be skiing Thursdays afterschool at Boston Mills.  

GONZAGA SOCIETY: You are invited to the weekly Gonzaga Society prayer service on Tuesday, November 28, from 8:00 - 8:15 am in the Companions Center, where we pray for the health of the sick and injured in our community. CLEAN TEAM: The next Clean Team outing of the school year will be Thursday, 11/30/23, right after school. No need to sign up, just show up to help care for our common home, in this case, our Ohio City neighborhood.. Meet in the Companions Center on the first floor of Loyola Hall at 3:10 pm on Thursday.  For more information, see Mr. Savastano or Mr. McCafferty.  The Clean Team is open to students of all grade levels.  Note: Thursday's weather is 46 degrees and partly sunny...make sure you dress for the weather!  

ATTENTION JUNIORS: The National Honor Society is looking to provide ACT and SAT test prep for current juniors. If you might be interested in participating, please fill out this form to help the NHS determine the best times and what to focus on. This is not a sign-up or binding commitment, just a preference form. More info for sessions will be sent once preferences have been gathered.

PEER TUTORING: Hello Wildcats! DO YOU NEED A PEER TUTOR? Best practice suggests that, when you need some assistance in a class, you should go to the source first: your teacher.  However, if you have been meeting with your teacher and find you still struggle, The St. Ignatius Peer Tutoring Program may be a great option for you. Please fill out the Peer Tutor Request Form, and someone from the peer tutoring program (Coach G, Mr.Mackey, or Ms.Miller) will be in contact with you as soon as the first week of October.


WRITING LAB: Need Writing Help?: The Peer Conferencing Center is here to help! Staffed every period, every formation period (except Thursdays), and before and after school, the PCC (located next to the English office in MB 415A) has excellent juniors and seniors to help you with your writing needs. It doesn't have to be just for English, either. Any subject works. Stop by anytime! Ask your English teacher for more details if you'd like.

BILLIARDS: Interested in being part of a new club?  Stop by Room 323 after school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday this week to check out Billiards Club.  It doesn't matter if you have never played before or if you consider yourself an experienced pool shark, we are looking for students of all levels to join us.   

ST. BERNARD MOVERS: Want to get involved with service at Saint Ignatius?  The St. Bernard Movers helps people move from one apartment to another, or from transitional housing to independent living.  We work on Mondays after school until about 5:30, and transportation is provided to and from school.  It's truly rewarding meeting people who might be in their first safe living situation.  Join us!  Questions, see Mr. McManamon in College Counseling.

BOARD GAME CLUB: Would you like to be a member of the most exclusive, premier club in the United States? While you're waiting for that invitation, why not join the Board Gamers Club?  We meet after school on Thursdays in LH229 until 5:00. Drop in for a quick game of Risk, Catan, or Stratego, or bring a new game to teach others. You don't have to be bored to join our club, you just have to be a gamer. Contact Alex Ament '25 aament25@student.ignatius.edu or

MISSION COLLECTION: "Students, faculty, and staff: this month’s Mission Collection will be supporting L’Arche Cleveland, an organization dedicated to assisting and supporting those with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities through mutually transformative relationships. Additionally, L’Arche is an important aspect of Saint Ignatius: students have supported the life changing work done at L’arche through the Friends with L’Arche program for over 15 years. Please consider supporting the important work done at L’Arche by making a donation, either with cash or wildcard, during lunch and formation on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the senior lounge or by donating cash in your advisories. If you are unable to donate financially, please consider donating your time through the Friends with L’Arche program."

F1 CLUB: is a place for all motorsport enthusiasts, although we will mainly focus on Formula 1 racing.  Activities for our club will include discussing upcoming Formula 1 races and events that took place during past race weekends, as well as all of the fresh and exciting news in the industry. We have an online F1 23 League, We will soon have a Go-Karting League running, hold fantasy leagues, learn about the latest racing technological/automotive advances, and watch races! We meet in room 215A during the formation period every Monday and Friday.

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS CLUB: Calling all adventurers, new and old! If you like making friends, storytelling, writing, acting, adventuring, dungeon-crawling, exciting turn-based combat, board games, card games, video games, tabletop games, really any type of games, or shiny math rocks, then you should come to the Dungeons & Dragons club on Monday in MB 414 during Formation Period. We will be creating new groups for this school year, continuing old ones, and discussing D&D and other tabletop roleplaying games. Even if you don't plan on playing during formation, it's a great way to organize a campaign for outside of school. Contact Alex Ament or Mr. Boenker (sboenker@ignatius.edu) for more information.

IGNATIAN ALLIANCE:  Are you looking for a sense of community and conversation? Alliance is open to students of all sexual orientations and identities, all allies, and teachers. Snacks will be provided, of course! NEW DATE, NEW TIME, NEW PLACE! ARRUPE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS: will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays this year.   If you are interested, contact Mr. Valletta and look for the online signups.

CAT MEETING: The Christian Action Team meets every Wednesday at 8:25 a.m. in the Companions Center for Faith that Does Justice (1st floor Loyola Hall).  All students are invited.  Come to learn about the different opportunities, hear stories from your peers, pray, reflect and get involved.  Please consider joining us! 

ULTIMATE FRISBEE: Thursdays 3:15-4:30pm on grass field near M.A.C. and Fridays during formation on Kyle Field. Email Mr. Betz or Mr. McGinness for more details or to be added to the team page. 

SKATEBOARDING CLUB: "Are you interested in skateboarding or want to learn how? Join the Skate Cats every Monday during the formation period and Friday after school in SC 204. We will provide boards but feel free to bring your own. We plan outings to skateparks every quarter, build boards, discuss skateboarding, and watch skate media. It doesn't matter if you have experience or not, everyone is welcome."

VELOCATS: We meet Fridays immediately after school (weather permitting) & some Saturdays. The club also meets Fridays during formation period in 235 to hang out. Velocats is the St. Ignatius cycling club. Local rides (3:15-4:30pm on some Fridays). We will go mountain biking and hit local dirt jumps on some Saturdays (usually around 1pm) dependent on student interest. We ride Ray’s Indoor MTB on Mondays in the winter. Email Mr. Betz to be added to the club page and receive details on upcoming rides. 

VIDEO GAME CLUB:  If you're interested in hanging out, playing video games, and talking about video games, then we have the club for you.  Please join us every Wednesday after school in Gibbons Hall (next to the Welsh Academy on West 32nd).

ANIME CLUB: Have you been feeling rather bored recently? Absolutely tired of having nothing entertaining to watch lately besides the same old shows. Well if so, why not join us on Fridays after school to watch something a bit more exciting than shows like River-dale.  Anime Club will be having be meeting every Friday after school in SC room 102, where you can let go of the stressful week and ease into your weekend while enjoying a few episodes of your favorite anime.
