LUNCHTIME MASS:  Fr. Shelton, S.J. will celebrate Mass today during 7th period (12:30) in the Companions Chapel.  All are welcome to attend.
St. Ignatius played host to the North Coast Speech and Debate Tournament on Friday and Saturday . Three hundred competitors from twenty schools competed to represent Ohio at the National Tournament in Albuquerque in June. Congratulations to our national qualifiers:
John and Alex Daoud in Duo Interp
Vassilis Alexopoulos and Matt Conway in Policy Debate
Drew Polito and Ryan Zix in Congress.
Congratulations also to Speech Team members Robby Klanac and Daniel DeVenney - finalists, and Michael Chopra- semi-finalist.
Green Team: Hey Wildcats...since we had a free day yesterday, the Green Team will meet TODAY after school.  Just come down to Campus Ministry at 2:55 pm --- no advanced signup is needed.  The recycling runs only take 15 minutes, but are an key part of our community's stewardship of God's creation.  The Green Team is open to students of all grade levels.  See Mr. McCafferty, or Mr. Savastano for more information.
SCOPE: Penny Lane, the black lab therapy dog and her owner Ms. Filmer who visited the campus during Mental Health Awareness Week, will be visiting every Tuesday for the remainder of the semester.  They will be in the atrium and possibly walking around gathering spaces on campus from 11-12:30.  Please be sure to stop by and say hello, spend a moment or two petting the dog, and enjoy the benefits that can bring.
IGNATIANS FOR LIFE:  Please come to pray the Holy Rosary for the culture of life every Wednesday at 7:30 am in the chapel. All are welcome.
The STEM Society will be having a meeting TODAY, February 18th, in Mr. Foster's Room, SC102. The STEM Society wants to change the way students are able to interact, involve, and grow their career and educational interests in STEM by providing an environment for hands-on activities, discussion, and interactive labs. This Tuesday, we will be doing a Pascal's Triangle activity, combining problem solving with math concepts in real-world situations. New members are always welcome.
CATS AGAINST CANCER:  If you ordered a shirt or are interested in buying a shirt for CATS Against Cancer you can do so during 4th and 6th period lunch in the Sr. Lounge Area.  The shirts are $15.  Email for more information.
THE PRE-MED SOCIETY will be having a meeting after school on Wednesday in room 304 of the Science Building.  We will be welcoming our eighth presenter of the Annual Speaker Series, Dr. Tom Graf '09, discussing "The Journey into Medicine".  All are welcome and encouraged to join.  
Ploughmen:  Are you interested in keeping bees? This Wednesday after school in room 514, the Ploughmen are hosting a local beekeeper to speak about the basics of beekeeping.  All are welcome!  
The Chess Club meets on Wednesdays in room 101 after school.  All are welcome.
The Walton Center will be closed on Friday, February 21 for staff professional development.  
Attention all Pre Law Society members and anyone else who's interested in learning more about how our court system works:  Tomorrow (Wednesday) after school in Room 327 of Loyola Hall you can be part of a one-of-a-kind event.  Several of your teachers and a couple members of the St. Ignatius Communications Department will gather to tell you about their experiences as members of juries in Cuyahoga County.   Their tales will range from civil suits worth millions of dollars to murder trials in crininal court.   So, set aside some time beginning at 3:05 tomorrow in Room 327 for an intimate look at what goes on in our trial courts--from an insider's view.
The Brother To Brother blue blazer and dress code sale will be held this Friday, Feb 21st during all lunch periods in Rade Dining Hall. If you have blazers, shirts, or pants to donate, please take them to Mr. Franzinger's  office before the end of the day Thursday. All proceeds of the sale  go to Kick It for Kevin, pediatric cancer research in memory of Kevin Healey '07.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Cornerstone of Hope bereavement center is preparing for its annual gala fundraiser on February 22, 2020. They are in need of help loading and unloading a truck in the morning from 7 AM to about 9:30 AM and then again at 10 PM to about 11:30 PM. Cornerstone is located in Independence, and our fundraiser will take place at Embassy suites in Independence. Please contact Kristan Heller ( to get involved.
Attn Seniors: Permission forms for the senior movie retreat are now available in Campus Ministry. This year’s retreat will be on Friday, March 20th. Space is limited and will be filled as permission forms are turned in. See Mr. Luisi or Mr. DeVenney for more information.
Blood Drive:  It's your love by donating blood and saving lives at the next blood drive on Thursday February 20th. Students, if  you are 16 years of age or older, sign ups will take place February 12th, 13th, 14th and 18th during periods 4-7 outside the senior lounge. Be a man for others, donate blood.
