Our ministry works in partnership and cooperation with a number of other wonderful organizations dedicated to serving Cleveland's homeless population. Please consider supporting them. They include:
Labre prep on Sunday evenings runs out of Gibbons Hall and the Joseph Family Kitchen. Volunteers bag food and stock blankets, socks, hygiene kits and batteries in the back of three or four school vans. Following established routes, they share friendship and food with about 90 people each week. Over the years, thousands of students have traded their Sunday evenings for visits with the city's homeless. Quickly, they learn that the food facilitates friendship. Participants gather in prayer before and after Labre to reflect on their service and those served, and to consider the connections with Jesus' teachings.
From week to week, the material needs for our friends on the street vary. While we welcome all donations, please contact Ms. Emily Mangan, Jesuit Volunteer, before delivering any food, clothing or other products.
Needs: AA and AAA batteries, winter coats*, blankets, sleeping bags, socks, hand warmers, hats, gloves, pants*, sweatshirts/hoodies*, t-shirts, bug spray, tents, boots/shoes
*For clothing donations, Large, XL, and 2XL sizes are preferred as they are most in demand.
