Lunchtime Mass:  Fr. Shelton, S.J. will celebrate Mass today during 6th period (11:45 a.m.) in the Companions Chapel.  All are welcome to attend.
 
There will be no OPEN GYM tonight.  Thank you.
 
This year, for our Black History Month Celebration, we will be selling Polo Shirts in the bookstore. This polo shirt can be worn on Fridays in the month of February and throughout the year. If you have previously purchased a Black History Month t-shirt, it may also be worn on Fridays in the month of February only.  Polo shirts will be for sale in the bookstore for a cost of $20 via cash or Wildcard, we cannot process credit cards for this item. All proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. 
 
Cleveland Culture Club:  The Cleveland Culture Club will meet after school in Room 231 on Thursday to continue planning upcoming activities.
 
VISTA: Attention all creative minds! Are you looking to write, draw, paint, sculpt or photograph for publication? If so, please consider joining us for a VISTA meeting on Monday, February 4 at 3:00 PM in room 412. VISTA is the St. Ignatius High School's creative arts publication club. New this year--we will be working with The Eye to publish your work. We will be discussing the creative arts contest for Black History Month and upcoming publication opportunities for English Week. THE PRE-MED SOCIETY will be having a meeting after school on Wednesday in room 304 of the Science Building.  We will be welcoming our eighth presenter of the Annual Speaker Series.  Our guest speaker will be Dr. Rich Wyszynski, discussing Ophthalmology.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
 
Attention all students who have taken one or both of the AP Capstone classes in the past three years.  In December, we received from the College Board a banner declaring Saint Ignatius High School as an AP Capstone Diploma School. You are among the 87 students who have participated in or who are currently participating in this program.  You are invited to the Breen Center stage on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 3:00 pm for a group photo of all of our AP Capstone students.  Dr. Fior, Dr. Caputo, and Mr. Bob Corrigan will be joining us. This photo will be used to celebrate your accomplishments as the first Ignatius students to participate in this new AP program.   So, if you have taken AP Seminar or AP Research or are currently enrolled in one of these courses, please join us on Jan. 31 at 3:00 pm in the Breen Center for a group photo with our banner.If you have questions or are unable to attend, please see Mr. Beach.
 
Food Drive: In the upcoming weeks, the Conservative Caucus and the Democratic Ignatians on Politics will be sponsoring a food drive to assist those who have been affected by the government shutdown. See the posters around campus for what items to bring in, but most nonperishable foods are acceptable. If your own family is currently affected by the shutdown, please email me at: dgallagher19@student.ignatius.edu.
 
Thankathon: Student callers are needed for the 2019 Thankathon which will be held February 4-7 in the Library from 4-6 pm each day.   Earn dollars on your Wildcard for attending, a chance to win daily prize drawings and be fed great food all while calling our donors to simply thank them for supporting Saint Ignatius and making an Ignatius education available to all. These are not solicitation calls, simply thank you calls! We need 20-30 callers each night and you can earn bonus Wildcard money for attending all four nights!  Please see Mr. Brennan, Mr. Nolan, or Mr. McCormick in Advancement for more information or to sign up.
 
The Chess Club meets on Wednesdays in room 101 after school.  All are welcome.

Conservative Caucus -  Meets every Tuesday at 3 in Rm 321 to discuss politics, take political action and increase membership in the conservative movement. New members are always welcome.
