The Science Olympiad team celebrated its 20th year with an impressive performance at the state tournament on Saturday, April 28. The Wildcats finished as the top private school in Ohio, placing eighth overall.
The team has devoted countless hours building and studying since October to prepare for six invitational tournaments, the regional tournament and States. Congratulations and thanks to coaches Tom Bogen, Guy Savastano and Chris McGinness '02 for their time and expertise throughout the season.
The Ohio State Science Olympiad Tournament is considered one of the toughest in the country. Teams from Mason and Solon high schools finished first and second; both qualified for the national championships and are among the favorites to win.

Mission Possible - 5th Place: Caleb Palagyi ’18 and Robert Pafford ‘20
Optics - 5th Place: Matt Borden ’18 and Danny Mullen ‘20
Remote Sensing - 6th Place: Matt Borden ’18 and Caleb Palagyi ’18
Rocks and Minerals - 6th Place: Matt Borden ’18 and Isaac Smith ’18
Density (Trial Event) - 6th Place: Isaac Smith ’18 and Jacob Leksan ’18
Detector Building (Trial Event) - 3rd Place: Robert Pafford ’20 and Nick Ragone ‘21
