Congratulations to the Saint Ignatius Symphonic Band for earning a Superior 'I' Rating at this year's District IV OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event. This is the first time they have ever earned straight 'I's from all four (4) adjudicators. Way to go Men!
The Symphonic Band begins to rehearse following the Marching Season, generally in early November. This ensemble focuses on the musicality, intonation, balance, and blend required to perform concert band literature at a high-level of musicianship. Performances include the OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event plus up to three (3) additional concerts, culminating with the Saint Ignatius High School Graduation Ceremony.
No audition is required, but a musical background or knowledge is encouraged, although it is not required. Instrument auditions may occur to determine parts played by Bandmembers.
