Saint Ignatius High School

Ending the Year on a High Note

At the state-level adjudication for the Ohio Music Education Association, Saint Ignatius musicians walked away with high honors, including a Superior Rating for the Symphonic Band. Congratulations to the choruses and band for their tremendous achievements!

Saint Ignatius musicians are ending the school year on a high note.

Director of Instrumental Music Dan Hamlin announced that the Freshmen Chorus, Men's Chorus, and Symphonic Band all performed at the state level Ohio Music Education Association large group adjudication on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21. Only a handful of groups qualify for this level of performance by earning a superior rating at the district level in March.

The Freshmen Chorus and Men's Chorus both walked away with an Excellent Rating, a great feat at the state level, where judges are incredibly picky in their adjudication.

The Symphonic Band walked away with a Superior Rating, the highest possible at this event. Of particular note for this group is that they moved up in the classification of music difficulty from the prior few years. To earn this rating is a truly wonderful achievement for these young men.

Congratulations are in order to these talented young musicians, as well as to Mr. Hamlin, Director of Choral and Liturgical Music Mr. David Croglio, and Assistant Band Director Mr. John Mullen for their gifts of leading these skilled musicial ensembles.
