Saint Ignatius High School

Dr. Anthony Fior '02, Ed.D. Named Crain's "40 Under 40" Honoree

For over 30 years, Crain’s Cleveland Business has celebrated its annual “40 Under 40” program, recognizing some of the best and brightest professionals putting their stamp on Northeast Ohio.

Saint Ignatius Principal Recognized for Leadership and Impact on Education

In a testament to his commitment to education and leadership, Dr. Anthony Fior '02, Principal of Saint Ignatius High School, has been named a "40 Under 40" honoree by Crain's Cleveland Business. The prestigious annual program celebrates outstanding professionals leaving an indelible mark on Northeast Ohio.

A graduate of Saint Ignatius, Fior's journey back to his alma mater has been marked by a profound dedication to Jesuit education. Inspired by the joyfulness and sense of purpose exhibited by his own teachers, Fior strives to pay that inspiration forward as an educator and leader.

"As an educator, if you can impact one student’s life, that’s amazing," Fior shared. "But, because a lot of the decisions made at the policy level can have a broader impact on the entire school community of 1,400 students, my current position represents a really amazing and humbling opportunity and challenge."

Fior's leadership skills, evident before the pandemic, came to the forefront during the COVID-19 crisis. His decisive leadership played a crucial role in spearheading the school’s preparedness efforts for in-person learning for the 2020-2021 school year. Richard Klingshirn, recently retired CFO of Saint Ignatius, praised Fior's ability to balance faith and commitment to Catholic Jesuit philosophies with firm and decisive leadership.

“He leads with his faith and his commitment to Catholic Jesuit philosophies and is able to balance that with being a firm, decisive leader who knows what he wants, is able to articulate it and is able to get the people around him to get it done,” Klingshirn said.

Beyond his duties at Saint Ignatius, Fior is an active member and mentor with the Jesuit Schools Network, collaborating with private school leaders nationwide. He also serves on committees at Cleveland’s Saint Joseph Academy and Seton Catholic School in Hudson.

Fior's commitment to student well-being is reflected in his recognition of the increasing importance of teen mental health, leading to the enhancement and expansion of support services for students.

Congratulations to Dr. Anthony Fior on this well-deserved honor, and thank you for your impactful leadership at Saint Ignatius High School.

In addition, congratulations to alumni Dominic Ozanne II '03, Ed Stockhausen '03 and Ken Kalynchuk '10, also named in the "40 under 40" class of 2023. Dominic Ozanne II is a Project Manager for his family’s 67-year-old business, Ozanne Construction Co., and is keen on putting his own mark on the firm and is excited to participate in the recently launched Cleveland Equitable Development Initiative which aims to support the success of minorities in the real estate industry. Ed Stockhausen is Senior Vice President of Advocacy and External Relations at Cleveland Neighborhood Progress where he lobbies for public policies that will improve Clevelanders’ lives. Ken Kalynchuk is Director and Principal at Project Management Consultants, where he secures and manages financing opportunities for a myriad of Cleveland-area development projects.
