On Monday, the irrepressible Mr. Dan Hess ’88, History teacher and music guru, gave us a whole bunch of great songs to welcome us back to the latest version of “the new normal.” A new schedule, a return to full attendance, a state Final Four run in basketball, and more helped us--a year after being sent home--welcome a new and beautiful day.

High school is a journey. Even though a student spends his four years in the same physical location, where he begins and ends are two undoubtedly different places. As students make this journey, School Counselors walk with them, encourage them, and help them pack the right tools for the four years and beyond. This is the cover story for the Winter 2021 issue of Saint Ignatius Magazine.

During his time as a student at Saint Ignatius Mr. Healey had the privilege of being in the classroom with a number of legendary teachers across a spectrum of disciplines. But the freshman year mentor who had the most lasting effect on his theological and spiritual life was Fr. Jim Lewis, S.J., who died last month.

As a priest in both the Byzantine and Roman Catholic rites, Fr. Cyril Pinchak crosses over between two different worlds. A Theology teacher and cross country/track coach, Fr.
