LUNCHTIME MASS:  Fr. Reim, S.J. will celebrate Mass today during 6th period (11:45) in the Companions Chapel.  All are welcome to attend.
ASTRA:  Are you an explorer at heart? Does air and space capture your imagination? Consider joining ASTRA, the Saint Ignatius Aerospace Club. We meet weekly on Thursdays after school in Science Building room 101. Contact Ferenc Somogyi '21 or Mr. DeCarlo for details.
Students of Saint Ignatius - BE A VOICE FOR OUR COMMON HOME!  
YOU ARE INVITED to take part in a Catholic Schools for Peace and Justice March for Climate Action this Friday, September 20 modeled after recent climate action witnesses originally organized by Swedish youth activist Greta Thunberg. Saint Ignatius students will join other students from Catholic schools across the Diocese for this event.  Meet at Saint Ignatius at 3:30 p.m. to take the school bus over to La Sagrada Familia Catholic Church where We will begin at with a prayer service and speaker on climate change's effect on vulnerable communities. We will then march to Edgewater Park for a public witness calling for action on climate change. If you would like to participate, please come to Campus Ministry for a permission form or you may print out the form from Mr. Pacetti’s email. The trip is open to all students. Because we don't have classes Friday, you will not need to miss school for this event. Additionally our Varsity Soccer team is playing St. Benedict (NJ) at 7:00pm that night at Cleveland State University, so you will have plenty of time to attend the event AND the game!
CAT:  Today and every Thursday the Christian Action Team gathers in Room 227 at 3 p.m. for 30 minutes to plan, discuss, reflect upon and pray about our Christian Service initiatives. All students are welcome. Leadership in CAT is demonstrated by presence and example. We look forward to sharing the good news of CAT with you each and every Thursday. To be a member of CAT, you must attend at least three CAT Meetings each semester. See you after school today. AMDG. God bless.
HISTORY CLUB:  Do you like Josip Tito? Do you hate The Wealth of Nations? Do you like backflips? Same! So maybe you want to join the History Club. Please join us for our first event TODAY after school in LH324. We will be watching the very realistic WWII movie Dunkirk from 3-5 p.m. Popcorn will be provided free of charge and other snacks and drinks will be available for purchase so bring a buck or two or sneak in your own. Bring a friend and celebrate history with us!
Asian American Society is meeting TODAY at 315A, Ms. Li’s classroom after school. There will be a comparison study on the Chinese Moon Festival and Indian Diwali, the festival of lights. Participants can also taste the moon cakes. All are welcome!
The Velocats, Saint Ignatius's bike club, will be doing two rides in the upcoming week: The first will be a ride from Independence Station to Peninsula along the Cuyahoga Valley Towpath on Friday, September 20. We will meet at 11 a.m. The second is a ride your bike to school day and will be next Thursday, September 26.The ride will be in conjunction with Saint Ignatius's Alternative Transportation Day of the Green Initiatives Week. You don't need to worry about waking up super early to do it either, Thursday is a late start. We will meet at several locations around the city and ride in together. More details to come concerning that ride. For more information contact Mr. Betz, Mr. Strauss, Roman Jakubowycz, or Sam Dornback.  
Paws for a Cause will be meeting Monday, September 23 at 3 p.m. in the Counseling Conference Room. All are welcome.  
The Golfers For Others group is sponsoring its first outing for Wednesday, September 25th, at 3:30 PM at Little Met Golf Course on Cleveland’s west side.  If you are interested, pick up an information sheet and Parent Permission Form from either Mr. Cooney in room 301 of the science building or Mr. Baron in room 224 of Loyola Hall.  Cost of the outing is $20.  The first 28 golfers that turn in the signed Parent Permission Form and $20 are in.  More details in the written announcements.
The Forum:  The Ignatian Forum will meet this Monday, September 23 in LH324. We are a gathering place where informed and factual discussion from all sides of the political aisle can result in greater understanding and depolarization on campus. This week's topic is: Immigration and Border Enforcement. New members are welcome!
The pink polo fundraiser is back.  The hot pink, dri-fit shirt is only available for purchase online at this link:  pink polo order form & payment.  Proceeds from each sale will benefit a member of the Saint Ignatius community impacted by breast cancer.  The sale begins today and runs through Friday, September 20. Shirts will be available for pick up on Thursday, October 3 - Thursday, October 10.  Questions should be directed to Kimberly Gross at
Attention Juniors and Seniors:  The colleges and universities listed below will be on our campus the week of September 9th. You may attend any session during a free period. Seniors only-if you have class, you must obtain permission from the teacher one day in advance to attend. Please be vigilant about checking the college visit schedule so you can plan ahead and not miss the meeting.
