Saint Ignatius Launches $75 Million Campaign

The Campaign for Saint Ignatius High School is designed to help ensure Saint Ignatius - its traditions, legacy and Jesuit identity will be here for generations to come.
Creation doesn't stop once we're born; God continues to shape us as we grow and mature into the person He wants us to become. The same is true for a great institution like Saint Ignatius High School. It is a dynamic place, enmeshed with the growth and change of those who are a part of it and the world that surrounds it. Preparing for the future means investing in every aspect of the school, including faculty, student access, and the campus infrastructure. All are crucial to achieving the mission of forming young men to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ while preparing them to meet the challenges of the 21st century. As such, Saint Ignatius High School is proud to publicly announce the $75 million Campaign for Saint Ignatius High School.

"Success is not about resting on our laurels," says Rev. Raymond P. Guiao, S.J. '82, President of Saint Ignatius High School. "We need to continue to think about our future and to plan well for it."

Your gift towards The Campaign for Saint Ignatius High School can support any or all of the following initiatives:

The Jim Skerl '74 Faculty Formation Endowment
With fewer Jesuits within the Society, establishing the Jim Skerl '74 Faculty Formation Endowment is a way of cultivating the lay faculty and staff of Saint Ignatius High School in the Jesuit tradition. It will ensure that the faculty is formed in traditional Jesuit philosophies and continues to weave the Ignatian imperatives of academic integrity, leadership, creativity, originality and intellectual competence into the fabric of Saint Ignatius High School's education and ministry through ongoing classes, retreats and/or workshops. The goal is to raise $2.5 million for this fund.

Annual Fund
For more than half of the students who walk our halls, the transformational experience of a Saint Ignatius education would only be a dream were it not for the generosity of alumni, parents and friends. A gift to the Annual Fund helps provide tuition assistance to those students in need. This year, the Annual Fund seeks to raise $2.4 million towards tuition assistance and will be able to provide funding for nearly 50 percent of our student body. Your gift makes a difference.

Endowment Growth
One of, if not the most crucial aspects of the school's strategic plan is to continually provide access to students of all backgrounds. The ongoing endowment campaign ensure the future of tomorrow's students by providing tuition assistance. To date, nearly $23 million has been secured, which helps enhance financial assistance as well as the continuing maintenance of our facilities. An additional $2 million is needed to hit the goal of $25 million.

Campus South Athletic Complex
In Cleveland, the weather does not treat the natural grass of Kyle Field well. With a large variety of athletics and extracurricular activities using the field, turfing this space is a solution that will make Kyle - and soon McLaughlin - fields a safer and more useable space year-round. In addition to adding turf, a field house and locker room will be constructed to better house practices and equipment. Also included in this project is the beautification of West 30th south of Lorain. The street will have improved landscaping, and a new entrance to these fields will make the space more welcoming to the surrounding neighborhood. The goal is to raise $2 million to achieve the $6 million goal for this project.
