Saint Ignatius High School

Speech and Debate Team Garners Recognition

The National Speech and Debate Association ranked our Speech and Debate team among the top 25% of schools nationwide earning membership in the Association's prestigious 100 Club.
Students in speech and debate competitions earn points and degrees in the National Speech & Debate Association honor society based on competitive and service-related activities.

Because the Saint Ignatius High School Speech and Debate team achieved a total of 100 or more degrees last year, we have ranked among the top 25 percent of schools nationwide and earned membership in the Association's prestigious 100 Club. This milestone demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching our students essential life skills - including communication, research, listening, writing and organization.

The Speech and Debate team at Saint Ignatius is a club whose members are part of the National Forensic League. Led by Fine Arts teacher Joe Buzzelli and English teacher Kim Gross, they seek to promote speech, debate and robust communication through competitions, debates and the like.
