Saint Ignatius High School

Welcome Drew Hudson as Vice President of Ignatian Community and Belonging

We welcome Drew Hudson as Vice President of Ignatian Community and Belonging. His primary role will be to advance and deepen the school’s culture of community and belonging through innovative programming focusing on the needs of our student population.
This June, we are pleased to announce that Drew Hudson joins us at Saint Ignatius as Vice President of Ignatian Community and Belonging. His primary role will be to advance and deepen the school’s culture of community and belonging through innovative programming focusing on the needs of our student population.

It will be Drew’s task to build upon the strong foundation of our school’s culture, foundations laid by past Jesuit presidents including Fr. James O’Reilly, SJ and Fr. Robert Welsh, SJ '54, alumni leaders like Mr. Jose Gonzales '87, Mr. Jason Reed '95, and more recently by Dr. Deborale Richardson-Phillips.

Drew’s immediate goal is to learn the school community and establish relationships with key constituents of the school, including fellow administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and Board members.  After assessing the school community’s need for further growth, Drew will unfold a comprehensive strategic vision for enhancing our community’s growth in cultural competence (the ability to identify differences in cultures and to relate positively across those differences). As the leader of the Office of Ignatian Community and Belonging, Drew will work closely with our Director of Ignatian Community and Belonging, Mr. Jarryd Tribble, as well as with all offices and departments of the school to advance cultural competence and to deepen the culture of community and belonging that enriches the student experience.

Drew brings a wealth of educational and professional experience, all of which reflects his passion for education and the formation of youth. He comes, most recently, from Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he served as the Program Manager for the Doerr Institute for New Leaders. Prior to that, Drew served as Executive Director of Academics at Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston and as a Teaching Fellow in the KIPP Texas Public Schools. He also served in the United States Army and Army Reserve (Airborne) as a Psychological Operations and Communications Team Leader. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University in Specialized Studies in Cultural Anthropology and History (2013), a Master of Education in Leadership from Lamar University (2024), and is a Master of Arts in History, Rights and Identity from Sam Houston State University (anticipated May 2026). Drew has earned numerous specializations, including Organizational Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Rice University (2024) and a certificate from Seminars in Ignatian Leadership (2023-2024).

Drew and his young family are relocating from Houston to the Cleveland area, where his wife has roots.
