As the Class of 2018 prepares for graduation, they have taken part in many of the same traditions as alumni who have gone before them. On May 1, the College Counseling Department celebrated
College Decision Day as students donned t-shirts from their future colleges and universities. The Class of 2018 applied to 268 colleges & universities and will enroll at 80 different institutions. Three of the top 10 colleges are Jesuit institutions and nine are in-state institutions.

- University of Cincinnati - 37 students
- John Carroll University - 32 students
- University of Dayton - 19 students
- Miami University - 17 students
- Cleveland State University - 16 students
- Ohio University - 16 students
- Xavier University - 12 students
- Kent State University - 8 students
- Loyola University Chicago - 7 students
Four students will attend Ivy League schools: Brown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University. Three students will attend military academies with two appointments in the United States Naval Academy and one at the United States Military Academy. One student will attend Norwich University, the oldest private military college in the United States.
What will the Class of 2018 study?
- 35% plan to pursue a major in business or economics
- 23% plan to pursue a major in engineering
- 9% plan to pursue a major in science
- 6% plan to pursue careers in health-related fields

While 72 percent of students will attend colleges and universities in the state of Ohio, some members of the Class of 2018 will travel to pursue their next level of study.

Graduating seniors were awarded nearly
$30 million in scholarships for the four-year period beginning with the 2018-2019 school year.
In addition to College Decision Day, students, families, faculty and staff attended the annual
Graduation Mass on Sunday, May 20. Back where it all began at the Mass of the Holy Spirit during their freshman year at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, students processed out of the cathedral ready to continue their journey with their brothers by their sides and Christ in their hearts.
Graduation will take place at the Public Auditorium on Sunday, May 27, at 1 p.m. The
Saint Ignatius Broadcast Network (SIBN) will have a LIVE stream of the ceremony beginning at 12:55 p.m.
