Chuck Kyle's '69 final regular season game as head football coach of the Wildcats will be played on the campus of Saint Ignatius High School on Wasmer Field on October 21 at 7 p.m. This will be the only varsity football game in program history played on campus, honoring the legacy of coach Kyle. The Wildcats will host Canada North-Clarkson (ONT). Due to the limited space, radio and TV streams will not be permitted to broadcast at Wasmer Field. All other media will be given proper field credentials when approved by the Saint Ignatius Communication / Athletic Department. A ticketed banquet will be held the following night at Saint Ignatius High School, honoring coach Kyle, more details can be found at ignatius.edu.
To honor his great legacy, Saint Ignatius has established the Patricia & Charles M. Kyle '69 Wildcat Football Endowment. The season will kick off in Parma at Byers Field vs. Springfield on August 20 at 7 p.m. Saint Ignatius will host Mentor at FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, on Friday, August 26 at 7 p.m. The full 2022 schedule can be found here.
Coach Kyle enters his 40th and final season as Wildcat head football coach at Saint Ignatius High School. He has achieved a 369-104-1 record through the years, winning 11 State Championships and four National Championships. He has reached the OHSAA State Tournament in 31 of his 39 seasons, including 31 of the last 34 years. Coach Kyle has just two losing seasons in his career, with a record of 74-27-1 after a loss. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Franzinger will be named Head Football Coach in 2023, following Kyle's retirement.
