Late arrivals will not be admitted. Please note: Sept. 16th is a delayed start schedule.

Individual Peer Tutoring
Peer tutors are available to meet on a weekly basis with any student who would like consistent, regular support in 1-2 subjects. Tutors are available to meet with their matches during free periods or before/after school. Most matches meet 1-3 times a week. Sessions typically last anywhere from 20-40 minutes. When possible, every effort is made to match students with a tutor who either has taken or is currently taking the same course with the same teacher. However, due to scheduling constraints, please keep in mind that this is not always possible.
If you would like to set up a matched tutor, please email Dr. Caputo (tcaputo@ignatius.edu) the following information:
  1. Your name
  2. The subject(s) in which you would like to be tutored, in order of preference (2 subjects per student, maximum)
  3. Days/times that you have available for tutoring. Offering more flexible availability will increase your chances of being assigned a tutor quickly! We recommend that you share at least 1 free period along with some time slots before and/or after school.
Matched tutors typically fill by midterms. If you we cannot accommodate your request for a tutor immediately, you will be placed on a waitlist and matched with a tutor as soon as a spot opens up. Because tutors are typically in high demand, we ask that students only request a match if they are committed to meeting on a weekly basis. Students who cannot commit to regular tutoring will probably benefit more from visiting our drop-in hours.

SCOPE is a new club on campus this year!  Stop by the Counseling Conference Room in the basement of the Main Building on Wednesday September 4th, and every Wednesday with SCOPE: Students for Compassion, Outreach, Perseverance, and Education.  SCOPE is a club looking to eliminate the stigma of illnesses affecting mental health in the Saint Ignatius community through education, awareness, and activities on campus. It is open to students of all grades who know and care about someone affected by this as well anyone feeling overwhelmed or overly stressed. Activities in the future may include therapy dogs on campus, guided group meditations, yoga, special guest speakers, and mental health week! Our first activity of the year will be a group walk to Mitchell’s, so come enjoy some ice cream and see what SCOPE is all about! Contact Mrs. Colborn (ecolborn@ignatius.edu) for more information.
