Yesterday, April 23, 2025, six Saint Ignatius students, including seniors Joseph Karroum and Noel Maddox, juniors Joseph Revnew and Daniel Sweet, and sophomores Joey Haddad and Jacob Klinect, accompanied by President and Chief Mission Officer Rev. Raymond P. Guiao, S.J. ’82, and Principal Anthony Fior '02, Ed.D. departed campus to travel to Milan and Rome.
Originally planned as a pilgrimage to celebrate the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the trip has taken a profound turn with Pope Francis's passing. The group now plans to attend the papal funeral in Rome this Saturday, joining over 200 students from Jesuit schools making the journey from all over the world.
During their travels, our students will visit Catholic Jesuit schools, the Leo XIII Institute in Milan and the Massimiliano Massimo Institute in Rome. Please join us in praying for their safe travels, a meaningful spiritual journey, and the repose of Pope Francis’s soul.
On April 27, Cleveland 19 News WOIO aired a news segment where they spoke with Dr. Fior, Joseph Karroum and Noel Maddox over facetime from Rome and included footage taken by Dr. Fior from the Vatican. View below:
