Governor DeWine extended the order for schools to operate remotely through May 1, 2020. Therefore, our Virtual Learning Protocol will continue at least through May 1. Accordingly, all school events, athletic practices, competitions and performances are postponed or canceled, and our campus will remain closed during this time.
Easter Break will continue as planned from Holy Thursday on April 9 through Sunday, April 19, 2020. Online classes will resume on Monday, April 20, 2020. Our Jesuit community will continue to offer Masses through online broadcasts during Holy Week.
- Holy Thursday - 7 p.m. Mass of the Lord’s Supper
- Good Friday - 3 p.m. Passion of the Lord
- Holy Saturday - 8 p.m. Easter Vigil Mass

We are grateful for the women who continue to strengthen our Saint Ignatius community and enrich our lives through their intellectual gifts and creative talents. Thank you for joining us in celebrating the women who have made history in large and small ways, forging new grounds at Saint Ignatius High School and our greater society.
We would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate all of our current parents. As Principal Dan Bradesca '88 mentioned in an email to parents this week, "I want to express my gratitude to you parents for supporting your sons during this topsy turvy time." A survey was sent to all current parents and students in an attempt to check in on our virtual learning protocol. While this is not a familiar or comfortable situation for most, we are encouraged to know that the hard work of our faculty and that of our students is positive overall. Know that your survey responses are being compiled and shared with our faculty and administraion. We will do our best to take everything into consideration as we prepare to continue our virtual learning protocol through May 1st.

In addition to the distribution of a survey, we also have introduced a new yoga class for parents. This is a free class offered by our Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning AJ Short '09. Grab your mats and join in a 60-minute flow through Zoom. The next session will be on Sunday, April 5, at 9 a.m. Please check your parent email to access the link.
Spring sports memories of seasons past flood social media feeds. On what would have been opening day for our Wildcat baseball team, Communications Coordinator for Athletics Joe Ginley '12 shared a graphic of the team roster to honor those who would have made their debut on the field this year. After finding out from Rugby Ohio that the rugby season was officially canceled, Coach Dan Arbeznik '00 offered these words of consolation to his team and coaching staff,
"Our journey together is not over. It just seems that the destination has changed. Once you're a member of the team, you're always a member of the team."
Facing an indefinite postponement of the season, the Saint Ignatius Crew coaching staff worked quickly to distribute ergs to the team. Since then, the Wildcats have stayed in shape at home, staying ready in case the season resumes. Read More
From freshmen to seniors, our students continue to impress us with their flexibility and positivity when faced with adversity. Freshman Justin Ortega is starting to adapt to the quirks and expectations of learning from home. His teachers make themselves available during "office hours" to answer students' questions. Still, he says, "I look forward to the future where everyone socializes at school again."

As the president of Student Senate, John Cugel '20 has tried to remain positive and connected to Saint Ignatius in any way he can. The Senior Class Senate came up with a way for students to stay social and connected to our school through the COVID-19 Connected Project.

Those are the words of campus minister Mr. Ed DeVenney in his reflection for students who are participating in individual spiritual direction. There's a lot to process during this time, and with the context of a couple movies he has watched recently, Mr. DeVenney can help all of us gain a new perspective.
