The Breen Center for the Performing Arts

A state-of-the-art facility, The Breen Center offers a space for artistic expression for students and community members alike. Find a show, learn about our artist-in-residence program or rent The Breen Center for your next event.

Artists-in-Residence

Saint Ignatius High School boasts three artist-in-residence programs at The Breen Center for the Performing Arts.  These groups consider The Breen Center their home stage, allowing them to share their creative expertise with our students, the neighboring community as well as their own loyal audiences.

The Singers’ Club
An auditioned male chorus formed in 1892 and dedicated to the performance of fine choral music and to the friendships that develop. The club presents three concerts each season at The Breen Center and features dynamic young soloists, unique guest groups like the Saint Ignatius Cat-O-Tonics, and internationally known guest artists. BlueWater Chamber Orchestra
A group of local, professional, world-class musicians committed to bringing a transformative musical experience directly into the neighborhoods of Northeast Ohio. In its season concerts at The Breen Center and other Northeast Ohio venues, BlueWater shares the luminous world of inspiring music in an inviting and accessible manner.
 
As part of its residency, BlueWater initiated the new string ensemble at Saint Ignatius High School. Future plans include incorporating BlueWater musicians in the classrooms at Saint Ignatius, in programs uniting the arts and academics. Verb Ballets
Ignites audience passion and participation in contemporary dance. Under the leadership of Director, Dr. Margaret Carlson, Verb strives to support and foster emerging talent, to present excellence in contemporary choreographers and to revive and honor modern dance classics. The company strives to be a thought leader in cultivating dance appreciation and support through education and outreach programs. In growing audience appreciation for dance, Verb Ballets helps make northeast Ohio a national destination for the arts.     Are you an arts lover? You can support Saint Ignatius High School drama productions as a Drama Patron at The Breen Center. Click the link to make a donation. It’s that simple.

  • Rent the Breen Center

    Various spaces in the Breen Center are available for rent; including the stage, theater, lobby, box office, concession stand, dressing rooms, chorus room and multi-purpose Thomas Room. The theater has 526 numbered seats and two ADA accessible areas which fit up to four wheelchairs each. The adjacent parking lot has 120 spaces and four ADA van accessible spaces.
