Endowed Scholarships

The Saint Ignatius High School Endowment Fund is an important source of money used to provide financial assistance -- a scholarship -- to a student whose family qualifies for aid. These funds can be named to honor or memorialize a family or an individual.

Named Funds Guidelines

An endowed scholarship fund is considered fully funded at $400,000, the amount of principal required, at 5 percent earnings, to produce $20,000 each year.
Any fund that reaches the $150,000 mark will provide for a Named Scholar (e.g. a Smith Scholar). The Office of Insititutional Advancement will identify a specific student who will be designated as the recipient of that award. Contributions at this level typically provide approximately half of a young man’s tuition for one year, or $7,500.
A minimum corpus of $75,000 is required to establish a named fund. A pledge to reach the $75,000 level within a reasonable number of years is also acceptable. Funds at this level are considered “partially funded” because they will generate $3,750 annually.
