Biggest Lesson Learned as a Student
“Sophomore Service greatly impacted my life. As a transfer student from Connecticut, Sophomore Service was one of my first experiences as a student and a memorable one. It showed me the sense of community and connection Saint Ignatius has with the Ohio City neighborhood.”

Professional Career
Chris started his career in theater because of a classmate encouraging him to join backstage crew. From there, he fell in love with theater and the arts community. In 1995, Chris started a comedy club for improv on West 6th in Cleveland, which served as a catalyst for growth in the area. Since then, Chris has been in numerous movies and plays in the Cleveland community, Unsinkable and Lost and Found in Cleveland are two to mention. For the past 13 years, Chris has served as a Professor of Theatre at Case Western Reserve University, teaching both undergraduate and masters students.

Involvement with Saint Ignatius
Last year, Chris volunteered teaching improv to students at the Welsh Academy, and plans to do so again this year. Chris has also partnered with Lara Mielcarek of our Fine Arts Department, teaching improv to women in a local prison.

Advice to Current Students
“Be yourself, you can make art. Ignatius helped me to be myself and trust myself. Using the skills that God gave you, you’ll find ways to make your own path.”
