Christmas Food Drive

For 89 years, Saint Ignatius High School students have planned and executed a massive Christmas food drive that annually delivers 700 food baskets to needy Cleveland families. The student Core Team meets once weekly for about six weeks leading up to the food drive day which usually occurs the Saturday before Christmas. In the three weeks leading up to Christmas vacation, the Saint Ignatius community donates "4+ cans, 4+ dollars, 1+ toy, 4 others." 

The 2025 Rini Food Drive will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

The day begins with Mass at 8:30 a.m. in the St. Mary of the Assumption Chapel, followed by a light breakfast in Rade Dining Hall. Following breakfast, basket delivery begins throughout the greater Cleveland area.

Students, family, alumni and friends are invited to join us. Maps, addresses and contact information for the basket recipients will be distributed on site. No sign-up is needed, just show up!

When is the Rini Food Drive? Food and cash will be collected beginning Monday, November 24th until Thursday, December 18th. 

Where do I drop off my food donation or cash? You can drop off food or cash donations in the Rade Dining Hall or at the Lorain entrance between Sullivan and Murphy Gyms. 

When will the food be delivered? Food deliveries will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025. 

What am I supposed to donate? Students can find out what their assigned food is by checking with their A Period teacher.
