Speaker: Mr. Matthew Donovan, S.J.
Matt Donovan, SJ, is a Jesuit scholastic who is currently serving on the History faculty at Saint Ignatius High School. A graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, TX, and Loyola University Chicago, Donovan entered the Chicago-Detroit Province (now Midwest Province) of the Society of Jesus in August of 2011. Donovan completed his first two years of Jesuit training at the Novitiate in St. Paul, MN, where he worked at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, served as a chaplain at the Ramsey County Jail, and assisted at a local parish. After taking First Vows in 2013, Donovan continued his Jesuit formation at Saint Louis University (St. Louis, MO), where he studied philosophy. In St. Louis, Donovan assisted with ministry to the homebound at a local Jesuit parish, volunteered with Labre Homeless Ministries, and facilitated a Christian Life Community faith group. After completing philosophy studies, he joined the Saint Ignatius High School community in 2016, where he continues his Jesuit formation in preparation for priesthood.
