Hydroponics Club:  Please consider coming to Hydroponics club on Monday at 3pm in rm 201. We will have a special guest, Mr Evans talk about a special opportunity for the club!!! See you on Monday.

 

BILLIARDS CLUB:  Attention billiards club members, and any student that is interested in joining the club. We will be playing the January tournament next Tuesday Jan 24 at River City Billiards . If you are interested in playing stop in for a short meeting on Monday Nov. 23 at 3 in the Durkin room to pick up a permission form. New students are welcome to join, if interested please show up at Mondays meeting.

 

1521 SOCIETY will meet this Friday January 20th after school at the Jesuit Residence. All are welcome! Come and discern your vocation with your peers, in an safe and friendly environment. We will start with Evening Prayer at the Jesuit Residence at 3:05. Then we will have pizza and a guest to share his vocation story.   Our guest speaker this week will be Mr. Billy Critchley-Menor, nSJ, our Novice for the semester.  Meet at the wooden gate on 30th street after school. GENESEE ABBEY:  Get to know Christ better and strengthen the rhythm of prayer in your own life before you head to college on the seniors-only Genesee Abbey Retreat at a Trappist monastery, about a 4-hour drive from campus.  The Genesee Abbey Retreat is March 24-27.  TODAY is the LAST DAY day to confirm your participation.  In order to do so, see Mr. Dybicz in the Theology Department TODAY.

This year's Thank-a-thon is next Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs (Jan. 23-26) from 4:00pm - 5:30pm in the Library. All are welcome to participate in this great event where we will call ALL donors to Saint Ignatius to thank them for their generosity. Special awards will be given to students who participate all 4 days. Please direct any questions to Mr. Distelhorst in Advancement (gdistelhorst@ignatius.edu).

COMMUNITY MASS:  Fr. Benda, S.J. will celebrate Mass today during 7th period (12:30) in the Companions Chapel.  All are welcome to attend.

 

SPRING MUSICAL:  This year's spring Harlequins production is "Seussical the Musical". Students in all four grades are invited to be a part of this show that is taken from your favorite books including "Horton Hears a Who". Those interested in acting should check out the audition information posted outside of the English Office. Students interested in being part of the stage crew, or lights and sound crews listen for announcements coming up next month.

C.A.T.:  The Christian Action Team invites all students to come to our meeting TODAY at 3 p.m. in Loyola Hall Room 227. C.A.T. oversees all service programs on campus and students of all grade levels are invited to participate. New members are always welcome. COMMUNITY MASS:  Fr. Pribyl, S.J. will celebrate Mass today during 4th period (10:38 a.m.) in the Companions Chapel.  All are welcome to attend.

 

PRE LAW SOCIETY:  Today at 3:10 the January meeting of the Pre law Society will be taking place   It will be held, as usual, in Room 327 of Loyola Hall.   Figure on it running about an hour in length.   Note the time is 3:10 instead of the usual 3:15.   Again, the meeting will be held in Mr. Howard's room.  Please be on time so that we can get started as soon as possible.

 

Ploughmen: Please join us today after school in room 514 with Guest Speaker Elizabeth Roche from The Ohio State University Extension Services. She Graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in Plant Pathology and a Master’s in Plant Health Management.  She has previously worked at The National Arboretum in Washington, DC, and at the Plant Pathology Department of OSU in Columbus, OH.

The Science Olympiad finished 6th in a field of 41 teams at the Kenston Invitational on Saturday. Congratulations to the medal winners:

COMMUNITY MASS:  Tuesday's lunchtime mass is during 6th period and is celebrated by Fr. Paul Shelton, S.J. Daily lunchtime masses begin at the start of lunch period and last approximately 25 minutes.

SJA SPRING MUSICAL:  Hello Students!  We will be having auditions for the SJA spring musical, Songs For a New World on Tuesday, Jan. 17 and Wednesday, Jan. 18th.  Come either day and please prepare a 1 minute songs from a musical and a 1 minute dramatic monologue. Bring sheet music for your song. Auditions will be held in the music room at SJA. Show dates are April 6, 7, 8 and 9. DROP IN PEER TUTORING:  Drop-in tutoring hours* will begin tomorrow, January 17th and continue throughout the spring semester. Tutors will be available at the following times and locations in our school library:

BEFORE SCHOOL: Tuesday-Thursday (in the Library Computer Classroom)
AFTER SCHOOL: Monday-Thursday (in the Peer Tutoring Center/former mac lab)

*Tutoring hours are subject to student and space availability and may be subject to change. Please check the daily announcements for any updates to the schedule.

*If you are interested in obtaining more regular, individualized tutoring in a particular subject, please email me as soon as possible. We have received a large number of requests for our matched tutors and anticipate that there will be a waitlist for requests received later in the semester.

Green Team:  Attention all Green Team members.  It's Tuesday, but it feels like a Monday.  So that must mean it is a recycling day!  Meet in the Atrium after school today to help care for creation with our weekly collection run.  New members always welcome.

CONSERVATIVE CAUCUS: We meet every Tuesday at 3:00 on Room 222 so our next meeting is TODAY.  New members are welcome.

Ski Club:  Boston Mills and Brandywine will be OPEN TODAY-Tuesday January 17th!  However, we will not be opening until 4:00pm at both locations.
