Saint Ignatius High School

Campus Ministry

Overseeing faith programs is Campus Ministry, which plans and leads retreats, school liturgies, mission trips, social justice initiatives, and leadership opportunities in these areas.

Campus Ministry's role is to make space for God in our lives and in our hearts. Through spending time in liturgies, prayer, retreats, mission trips, spiritual direction, working for justice, or even in the quiet presence of our Lord in St. Mary's Chapel - students encounter many invitations each day to hear and know God's voice and call in their lives.

At Saint Ignatius, Campus Ministry helps “make space for God”—in the school day, in our daily lives, and in initiatives outside the classroom. Students will work with the Campus Ministry team to plan for school Masses, travel on mission trips, participate in retreats, learn about Ignatian prayer and more. Located centrally on campus, the work of Campus Ministry is central to a student’s formation experience during his four years.

A robust retreat program is a hallmark of Campus Ministry. All students are required to make at least three retreats before graduation: Freshman Spirit Day, Sophomore Retreat Day, and an overnight junior year retreat. Through these experiences, students grow closer to each other, learn new forms of prayer, and discover God’s presence in their lives in a new way.

Students looking to get involved in faith-based programs and planning at Saint Ignatius will find opportunities in Campus Ministry. They can serve at Masses as servers, acolytes and Eucharistic Ministers. They can play an instrument or sing in the chorus at Masses and prayer services through the liturgical musicians. Upperclassmen are invited to lead retreats, and rising juniors and seniors participate in domestic and international mission trips each summer.

Want to get involved? Stop by the Campus Ministry office, or contact any of the department members.

Daily Mass on Campus

Daily Masses take place in St. Mary of the Assumption Chapel at 7:45 a.m. These Masses are for students, faculty and staff--except for the Friday morning Community Mass where parents, alumni and friends are welcome.
