Saint Ignatius High School

Athletics

Saint Ignatius has a rich tradition of developing student-athletes into men of faith and character. The Wildcats field 16 varsity teams, plus intramurals and student sports media groups. Student-athletes learn lessons on and off the field from coaches, chaplains and teammates.

To say faith has nothing to do with it is absurd.

Athletics have a rich tradition of excellence at Saint Ignatius High School that ties into all aspects of a student's formation, from academics to faith to service.

The Wildcats have won 46 state championships and 11 national titles since 1988, and a host of city and conference titles before then. Our student-athletes learn, though, that the true meaning of competition is A.M.D.G.—to give greater glory to God.

The Athletic Department sponsors 16 varsity sports from the fall through the spring, with nearly 1,000 students competing in a sport. Students can participate in the Saint Ignatius Broadcast Network (SIBN) to call Wildcat athletics on livestreamed videos. Saint Ignatius also offers a variety of intramurals during the school year and a host of summer sports camps open to children. A sports chaplaincy program helps student-athletes discover connections between their sport and their faith.
