Rev. Raymond P. Guiao, S. J. ’82 is the 26th president of Saint Ignatius High School. As an alumnus of the school, Fr. Guiao joins generations of men, who, in the words of the school’s alma mater are “Ignatius men forever.”
He was a faculty member in both English and Theology at Saint Ignatius from 1992–1995, returning in 2000 to teach Theology and to direct the Choral and Liturgical Music Programs. Fr. Guiao also served for two years as the interim Vice President for Ignatian Mission at Saint Ignatius.
Just prior to assuming the presidency of Saint Ignatius in 2015, Fr. Guiao served as the Assistant to the Provincial for Formation for the Chicago-Detroit Province of the Society of Jesus, a position he held since 2008. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading more than 80 Jesuits in formation.
Fr. Guiao entered the Society of Jesus in 1986, was ordained to the priesthood in June 1999, and pronounced final vows in the Society of Jesus in 2009.
“May God continue to bless our school and prosper our mission to form young men to know, love and serve Jesus Christ, no matter what their calling in life may be.”
The President’s office one is of the busiest on campus. Supporting Fr. Guiao in his day-to-day leadership of the school are Gerald Skoch ’77, JD, Vice President and Chief Mission Officer, and Barbara Watowicz, Executive Administrative Assistant.
