Bigs and Littles

Bigs & Littles

Bigs & Littles provides Saint Ignatius High School students and females from area high schools the opportunity to be a mentor, friend, and hero to a child who needs a positive role model in their life. This one-on-one mentoring program pairs juniors and seniors with a child from an at-risk or under-resourced environment in grades 5 and 6. This program requires a year-long commitment from "Bigs" to build relationships and learn and grow with their "Little."

Program meets Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

For more information on Bigs & Littles, please contact Mr. Pat Valletta '05, pvalletta@ignatius.edu or call (216) 961-1260.

"Bigs" talk about Bigs & Littles program...

"The Bigs and Littles mentoring program has been helpful to me because I have become a more accepting and less judgemental of people who are different than I am."

"It's helped me consider certain decisions more before I make them, I've realized more people are affected by my decisions or look up to me."

"It has helped me realize that I could be such a big help to some individuals even by spending an hour with them."

"Bigs and Littles has allowed me to build relationships with the Arrupe kids in ways that the other programs haven't. Being one on one with a specific kid really makes the service more meaningful."

"[I've] become more caring, patient and tolerant."
