Appalachia (Wheeling)

The rural mountains of West Virginia are the home to the Appalachia mission trip, coordinated through Wheeling Jesuit University. Students learn of the economic and social issues of the area, and assist in community projects.

Coordinated through Wheeling Jesuit University, the Appalachia mission trip sends students to rural West Virginia to work with low-income communities in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Previous groups have worked at soup kitchens, home rehab services, after-school programs, and even natural disaster clean-up. Students will learn about the struggles of life in the rural United States.
