The Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition is open to all of Ohio’s 1,112 high schools, and is dedicated to the educational and artistic advancement of the talented young people in the state of Ohio. This year there were 8,113 total submissions from all over Ohio.
The process of selecting artworks for the State Exhibition begins on a regional level. High School students in each of the 15 regions are invited to enter work for regional judging.
Region 8 had 1,266 submissions, making us the second largest region, of which 226 pieces advanced to the state level along with the Regional winners from the other 14 Regions for State judging. Jurors for the state level are chosen from all over the country and are generally professional artists themselves, college level instructors, or both. At the State judging level there was a total of 1,456 artworks.
274 pieces were selected for the State Exhibition - 25 of which were awarded as the top 25.
