The Saint Ignatius High School Choral Program is recognized as one of the premiere choral programs in the state of Ohio. Students of all abilities and experience levels are welcome to participate in one or more of our offerings.



In addition to offering choral and music instruction during the school day, Saint Ignatius offers several opportunities for students with an interest in singing. These range from chorus groups open to all students, to audition-only performance troupes. Please see below for all available choral opportunities.

  • Chorus

    An ensemble open to any sophomore, junior, or senior. The Chorus sings at multiple concerts throughout the year, and provides the music for many Masses. The group occasionally will perform for community events or festivals, and also performs at the OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event each year. The Chorus performs high-level male choral music, from a variety of cultures and styles.

  • Freshman Chorus

    The entry-level choral group at Saint Ignatius for students who join the choral program during their freshman year. Emphasis is placed on healthy vocal development and producing good choral tone. Music literacy is introduced in this ensemble. The Freshman Chorus performs at four major concerts each year and will sing at some school Masses. Additionally, students will perform at the OMEA Adjudication.

  • Cat-o'-Tonics

    Founded in 2005 by current president, Fr. Ray Guiao, S.J. ’82, the Cat-o'-Tonics comprise 12-16 students who must also be members of the Chorus. Auditions occur each year. The ensemble meets after school twice per week and specializes in singing a Capella pop music. The award-winning Cat-o'-Tonics sing at a variety of school and community events annually.
