Leading the Way in Academic Excellence

  • The Saint Ignatius High School Class of 2011 had an Equity and Excellence Index of 60.4% This means that over 60% of our graduating seniors, during their tenure at Saint Ignatius High School, took and passed (scoring 3,4, or 5 on a scale of 5) at least one AP test. This Index is an excellent measure of the breath and depth of our students' academic pursuits.
  • In May of 2011, Saint Ignatius students successfully passed more than 400 AP courses which allowed them to receive college course credit in their post high school career. These credits give them a head start as they pursue their college degree. Many of our students start college as second semester freshmen, some as sophomores, saving significant tuition costs and putting them on a path for early graduation.
  • Last year the College Board organization recognized 120 Saint Ignatius students as AP Scholars. This designation means that they have successfully passed (with a score of 3 or higher on the 5 point scale) at least three AP tests.
  • Four students were recognized as National AP Scholars meaning that they had received an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scored 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. One of these students earned an amazing 4.77 average on thirteen (13) AP exams which he had taken. That's a lot of college credit!
