The Saint Ignatius High School Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) prepares young men for the social, cultural, academic and athletic challenges of high school. Designed for young men between the 7th and 8th grades, SEP is the perfect opportunity for them to become acquainted with life at Saint Ignatius. Staffed by Ignatius teachers, coaches and students, SEP offers the following:
Academic Enrichment
Students attend classes such as math, reading, English, science, art, social studies, theology, Latin, Biology, Spanish and French. The Math, English, and science classes target instruction toward preparing students for Proficiency Tests and the Entrance Exam.
Social Enrichment
The program draws students from over 120 schools from the Cleveland area. This will include students from different economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Cultural Enrichment
Speakers are brought in to the SEP to discuss a variety of topics with the students. Past topics have included:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- From Ice to the Speed of Light
- Saint Ignatius Athletics
- Sports Medicine
- Wonders of the Reptile World
Field trips are also a part of the SEP; past trips have included:
- Canton Football Hall of Fame
- Cleveland Zoo
- Great Lakes Science Center
- Jacobs Field
- Mansfield Reformatory
- NASA
- Natural History Museum
- Wallace Lake
Athletics
SEP also includes a comprehensive sports program, Camp Olympics and All-Star Games.
