The Saint Ignatius High School Campus Ministry Team is committed to the spiritual development of all its students. The mission of Campus Ministry is rooted in the tradition of the Society of Jesus.
The aim of the entire Saint Ignatius High School community - administrators, staff, parents, faculty, and students - is the spiritual, academic, emotional, and physical development of the student. During his four years at Saint Ignatius High School, a student should grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The student should come to realize that he is invited to follow Jesus Christ and work with Him to build God's Kingdom on earth. Just as the motto of all Jesuits is, "For the greater glory of God," the student should come to the same orientation of make choices that honor God by doing the greater or better good.
The Campus Ministry Team assists in this process by coordinating the celebration of the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the school year. Campus Ministry also provides specific formation programs for student retreats, liturgical ministers, and Contemplatives in Action prayer groups for sophomores. In addition, the Campus Ministry Team also promotes a faith that works for justice and peace through retreats and service projects such as the Fr. Gafney Mission Program.
The Campus Ministry Team also supports and animates the other academic and extracurricular departments in the mission to participate in the spiritual and religious formation of the students at Saint Ignatius High School.
