Novena for Faithful Citizenship

Prayer is one of the first steps in acting for justice in our world. At the urging of the United States bishops, all Catholics are invited to participate in this special election prayer. The Saint Ignatius High School community invites all to pray with us a Novena for Faithful Citizenship, rooted in the biblical tradition and the Church's social teaching. It is intended to promote justice and peace in our neighborhoods, our country, and our world.

May this novena help to give hope to the poor who suffer from injustices and hope in your life that you may know the peace of Jesus Christ. Thank you for participating in and following along with this important novena. Please join us in this final prayer

November 7 -Prayer after an election

God of all nations,
Father of the human family,
we give you thanks for the freedom we exercise
and the many blessings of democracy we enjoy
in these United States of America.
We ask for your protection and guidance
for all who devote themselves to the common good,
working for justice and peace at home and around the world.
We lift up all our duly elected leaders and public servants,
those who will serve us as president, as legislators and judges,
those in the military and law enforcement.
Heal us from our differences and unite us, O Lord,
with a common purpose, dedication, and commitment to achieve liberty and justice
in the years ahead for all people, and especially those who are most vulnerable in our midst.

Amen.
