Saint Ignatius High School

Employee Faith Formation

All Saint Ignatius employees participate in a five-year faith formation program, structured to introduce them to our mission and identity as a Jesuit school. Groups meet twice monthly for short lessons and faith-sharing.
Our employees are our greatest assets. Recognizing that, Saint Ignatius has developed a comprehensive employee faith formation program for all new hires. By establishing the Jim Skerl '74 Faculty Formation Endowment, we have created a way of cultivating the lay faculty and staff of Saint Ignatius High School in the Jesuit tradition.

The goals of this program are to:
1. share with all new faculty and staff a knowledge and appreciation for the foundational principles of Ignatian Spirituality, Jesuit Education and the Catholic Faith.
2. build community among new faculty and staff around the mission of the school.
3. increase the ability of new employees to discuss the Catholic and Ignatian identity of the school.
4. give new employees an opportunity to grow in their own faith and in their personal development.
5. prepare all new employees to make the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola.

Each cohort is guided through the formation program together, beginning with an opening retreat, participation in the Ignatian Themes Workshop after the first year, in addition to special Masses and gatherings.
